Brad - Devlog 01



Week One

This game was our second concept from the previous one made so we had the gameplay planned out and just needed to sort out assets and tie up loose ends for the first days.

The game's idea is that there's two teams racing around the track with half their teammates as attackers which complete laps for points to win. The other teammates are defenders and try their hardest to knock out the opposing team's runners and escort their own.

A second gamemode that we had planned was that there'd be a crown for the players to grab and hold onto for the longest trying to avoid other players. 

For our car design we wanted to have fun with the cars so we made them “Hot Wheels” sized with classic cars. The other ones we made were wacky, funny looking as we were aiming for a younger audience. Later on in the week we thought of the name for us to then only make cars being open wheeled, since most open wheeled cars had an open cockpit we had to make characters to represent two teams.

For the rest of my time this week I concepted the characters and cars to split work between me and Jayden. He got straight onto the coffin car and I started on the Lotus 7.
